As part of its commitment to product innovation, the company was developing a new spreader and required a manufacturing partner capable of producing lightweight yet durable tubular components.
The Challenge
Peacock Salt required a specialist tube bending and fabrication company to manufacture the handle and support legs for its new Optio spreader. The objective was to reduce overall product weight while maintaining strength, durability and performance.
The existing design utilised heavier steel components, which added unnecessary weight and affected ease of use. A lighter alternative was required without compromising structural integrity or product lifespan.
The Solution

Following testing, aluminium tube was selected for the handle and leg assemblies. The material offered significant weight savings compared to steel while providing the strength required for the application. To further enhance performance, the components were heat treated after forming, increasing durability and resilience in demanding operating conditions.
